Has Your Phone Ever Died On You?

If you’re a smartphone user than you have had at least a few times your battery run low if not fully die when you needed it the most. I have spent the last few weeks trying out a device called Cellink 1 ($54.95; www.usbcelldrive.com.) This device is set up to help you when you need it the most.  If you’re like me, you use your phone to play games, check your email, Facebook, text, and make calls. The device will boost your battery 20-25% giving you enough juice to make any emergency calls you need or do whatever business you need to take care of before being able to reach a plug to charge your iPhone (or any other smartphone you have.)

This device is a great portable option for any mobile device! It takes away the need for a cord. It charges from any USB socket and then simply plugs directly into the iPhone to charge it, and you can use the phone while it is plugged into the phone. This particular model I have been provided with has an option built in for Mini SD cards. They also have another model with built in memory giving you even more options to choose from! I have had the opportunity to try this device for about 3 weeks now and the battery has been very consistent thus far. It has provided a solid 20-25% every charge for my iPhone 4. I had my screen set at 50% and barely really used it as it was charging but to check the time and for any missed text messages or voicemails.

I am aware of other devices on the market and the price point for this device I feel is pretty fair. The other devices if you were to Google would cost from $5 and up. But, keep in mind you get what you pay for! I know thinking about just cost and the device being faulty after even the first use has burned me before. This device thus far has preformed the same every single charge.  It is slightly larger then a regular sized thumb-drive.

There are a few things like any device that I would like to see some improvement on. For example, the shape of the device could be slightly more curved so a little easier to have in your pocket. I would also like to see a better system for letting keeping you aware of the battery status on the device itself. After talking a little with the Owner of the company, Mr. Duyka has informed me he is in the process of a newer version. That should be released some time in the 3rd quarter of this year. It will address some of the little things I mentioned here and improve the over all handling of the device with its size.

I look forward to seeing the new device when released and you can bet I will be looking that device over as I have this one. I appreciate the mobility of this current device and its ease of use. I work in a fast pace environment and having a charged phone is extremely important for the job I do.  I have noticed already that by having the Cellink 1, I have had less worry and more use out of my phone in-between charges. Having the ability to walk with my phone as it charges is a HUGE plus. I give this device a thumbs up for any person who lives a fast pace life!
